They trust us
“Les Entreprises EJA did an excellent job on the complete overhaul of the wooden siding of our chalet, and stand highly recommended for their reliability and conscientious work! Emir, Jeremie and their team reassured me that there are still hardworking young people out there, for whom a job well-done is not only a question of money well-earned, but also of professional pride and honor!”

What we assess during the diagnosis
Before any installation, our expert evaluates the complete thermal envelope to target the most effective solutions.
Thermal bridges
Spotting the contact areas between inside and outside that create heat loss
Air infiltration
Detecting drafts through joints, windows, soffits and other openings
Moisture and condensation
Identifying areas at risk of condensation and mold inside the walls
Existing insulation thickness
Measuring the current insulation and assessing possible improvements
Vapor barrier condition
Checking the integrity of the existing vapor barrier
Envelope ventilation
Analyzing ventilation to prevent moisture buildup in the wall cavities

Step 2 — Regulations and permits
We handle everything. You have nothing to do.
Many municipalities require a permit before replacing exterior cladding. At EJA, it is included in our service: we check local requirements, prepare the documents and manage the process for you.
Checking municipal requirements
Every city has its own rules. We review your municipality’s bylaws before submitting anything.
Permit application if required
We prepare the documents, the plans and the complete file. We submit on your behalf and follow up.
Building Code compliance
All our work meets the requirements of the Quebec Building Code and current RBQ standards.

Step 4 — Detailed quote
A clear quote, no surprises
Your quote includes materials, labor, timeline and warranties. Here are the 4 factors that make a project’s cost vary.
Insulation type
Rock wool, cellulose, Isoclad panels, each material has its price and thermal properties. We choose together based on your goal.
Surface to insulate
The total area of walls, ceilings or floors to treat is the main factor that determines material and labor costs.
Required thickness
The thicker the insulation, the higher the R-value, and the greater the energy efficiency. The Building Code sets minimums.
Access and complexity
Hard-to-reach spaces (attics, sub-floors, old walls) require more time and specialized equipment.
Step 5 — Installation day
An installation done by the book.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you want to know
Have other questions? Our team is here to help, at no cost and with no obligation.
Which insulation is best for a home in Montreal?
Rock wool (Isoclad) is often recommended for the Quebec climate: it resists moisture, is non-combustible and delivers excellent thermal and acoustic performance. Cellulose is a high-performance eco-friendly alternative.
Is exterior insulation eligible for subsidies?
Yes, several of our solutions qualify for Hydro-Québec’s Rénoclimat program, which offers rebates based on the type and thickness of insulation installed. We help you check your eligibility.
What is the difference between interior and exterior insulation?
Exterior insulation wraps the entire structure and eliminates the thermal bridges created by wood studs. It is more thermally efficient and does not reduce indoor living space.
What R-value is recommended for walls in Quebec?
The Quebec Building Code recommends a minimum R-value of R-24 for above-grade walls in climate zone 6 (Montreal). We can often go further depending on your system.
How long does a full exterior insulation take?
For a standard single-family home, exterior insulation usually takes 3 to 7 days depending on the surface area and the complexity of the envelope.
Do you handle permits for insulation?
Yes, in some municipalities exterior insulation work may require a permit. We check local requirements and handle the process for you.
Does exterior insulation change the look of my home?
Yes, exterior insulation slightly changes the thickness of the walls. We usually combine it with new exterior cladding for a flawless result.
